Tamil Nadu signs MOU with France to uplift the economy

Chennai, December 08: Enhancing the India and France corporation in industrial fields to uplift the economy, Tamil Nadu’s Industrial Guidance and Export Promotion Bureau and Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday signed an MoU to facilitate mutual investments and promote ease of doing business.

The MOU was signed in the presence of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Eddappadi K Palaniswami and French ambassador Emmanuel Lenain on Monday.
 
 
According to the French embassy, MOU establishes a framework to facilitate the connection between french businesses and Tamil Nadu enabling investment promoting ease of doing business.
 
Apart from this Tamil Nadu CM Palaniswami said that he and the French envoy held productive dialogue about enhanced French companies' co-operation with Tamil Nadu related to industry R&D and sustainability. During the visit, they both discussed opportunities in the Indo-pacific and People to people exchange.
 
"Very productive talks with CM of TamilNadu, Thiru Edappadi K. Palaniswami. We discussed how French companies can contribute to Tamil Nadu's goals in industry, R&D, and sustainability, as well as opportunities in the Indopacific and last but not least people-to-people exchanges,” the French envoy tweeted.
 
 
India and France have moved closer in the past few months despite the COVID-19 crisis. Cooperation between the two countries in the area of environment is a major pillar of Indo-French partnership, both at the bilateral level and on the international stage.
