The Ministry of External Affairs has informed that the departure of the Indian flight to Wuhan is being planned today and the evacuees will arrive on February 27. However, the aircraft was ready to take off on February 20 but it had to wait as there was no response from the China side when informed to them.

The materials which are being supplied are gloves, surgical masks, feeding and infusion pumps, and defibrillators. All these are based on the requirements which are indicated by the Chinese side. The Air India had already evacuated around 640 Indians from Wuhan by sending two separate flights. All the Indians who will be returning to India will be brought back through the aircraft on Thursday after the Indian embassy had reached out to the Indian citizens stuck in Wuhan.

As per the latest reports, the Coronavirus death toll has reached 2,715 with 80,000 people being infected globally. Earlier this month, India had offered to help China when PM Modi had written a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping expressing solidarity with people of China over the outbreak of the virus and provided assistance to deal with it.
