Delhi theaters, schools to remain shut; CM Kejriwal urges delhiites to stay away from public gatherings

New Delhi, March 12: While the COVID-19 epidemic is spreading like fire all over the world, the Delhi government has announced to shut all cinema halls, schools, and colleges till March 31. This is after the World Health Organisation declared the outbreak as ‘pandemic’.
 
"We need to exercise abundant caution to contain the disease. All cinema halls to remain shut in Delhi till 31st March. Schools and colleges where exams are not being held will also remain closed. #CoronaVirus. People are advised to stay away from public gatherings", Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.

Further following the national capital's decision, the Jammu and Kashmir administration also ordered the closure of primary schools, Anganwadi centers and cinema halls across the region till 31 March today. Also the Karnataka government issued temporary regulation and asked all government and private hospitals to have flu corners for the screening of suspected cases of COVID-19.
Two new cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh, and one each in Delhi, Ladakh and Maharashtra. With the new cases in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, the two states have the second-highest number of cases at 11. Kerala has 17 cases, while Delhi has six cases.
