RSS defers ABPS meeting in view of COVID-19 outbreak

Bengaluru, Mar 14: The three-day meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been suspended in view of the COVID-19 outbreak. The ABPS is the highest decision-making body of the RSS and meets annually to take stock of the organization and its activities.

The meeting was scheduled to begin today. Nearly 1500 elected representatives from all over the country and also the prominent office-bearers of the RSS associate organizations were expected to participate in this annual meeting. 

In a statement issued here, RSS Sarkaryawah Suresh alias Bhayyaji Joshi said that the ABPS meeting has been suspended in view of the seriousness of pandemic COVID-19 and in the light of instructions and advisories issued by the Central and State Governments.

In a tweeter message, Joshi called on all swayamsevaks to cooperate with the administration to create awareness among the public and to face the challenge successfully.
