New Delhi, March 17: Indian government is taking enormous measures to restrict COVID-19 in its second phase. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope held an urgent meeting with leaders from the corporate and health sector on Coronavirus. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a fresh Additional Travel Advisory for Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) today. Travel of passengers from Afghanistan, Philippines and Malaysia to India is prohibited with immediate effect. No flight shall take off from these countries to India after 1500 hours Indian Standard Time (IST). The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure, according to the advisory.

In continuation of the travel advisory issued on 11th March, 2020 and 16th March, 2020, the following additional advisory is issued:
These instructions are temporary measures and shall be in force till 31st March 2020, further will be reviewed subsequently. A high level meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) on COVID-19 was held under the chairpersonship of Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in New Delhi yesterday. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar, Minister of State for Home Nityananda Rai and Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey attended the meeting.
 
Travel of passengers from member countries of the European Union, the European Free Trade Association, Turkey and United Kingdom to India is prohibited with effect from tomorrow. No airline shall board a passenger from these nations to India with effect from 1200 GMT tomorrow. The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure.
