New Delhi, March 18: Assessing the immigration, health, security measures in a bid to contain the COVID-19 chaos, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday night visited the Delhi airport, further extolling the officials who are responding day and night and rise and shine to the challenge posed by coronavirus outbreak.
 
"India works because countless Indians do. Night or day, rain or shine," Jaishankar tweeted after visiting the airport. "Went tonight to meet our immigration, health, security and airport officials at Delhi Airport who are responding to COVID challenge," he added thanking the officials for their exceptional effort in these 'difficult times'. "That too, with great courtesy and a warm smile," he added.

Meanwhile the Health Ministry has issued guidelines for notifying COVID-19 in private facilities. Stating that it is of utmost importance that each case of coronavirus is isolated and provided appropriate treatment and their contacts are traced at the earliest to break the chain of transmission, the Health Ministry said that it was important that support and cooperation of the private sector is enlisted in this regard.
 
"Therefore, it shall be mandatory for all hospitals (Government and Private), medical officers in government health institutions and registered private medical practitioners, including AYUSH practitioners, to notify such person(s) with COVID-19 affected person to concerned district surveillance unit", it added in the statement.
Further Government has approved Air Asia flights for Delhi and Vizag to help Indians stranded at Kuala Lumpur airport due to the coronavirus outbreak. S Jaishankar in a tweet informed that the flights have been approved as Indian students and other passengers waiting in transit at Kuala Lumpur airport are facing a difficult situation.
 
He asked them to contact the airline saying that these are tough times and they should understand the precautions. According to reports, over 200 Indians, mostly students, were stuck at Kuala Lumpur Airport due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country. India has banned the entry of passengers from European Union countries, Turkey and the UK till 31st of Mrach. It has also closed its doors to those from Afghanistan, the Philippines and Malaysia.
