Two more positive cases of coronavirus reported in country

New Delhi/Hyderabad, Mar 2: Two more patients were tested positive for coronavirus in India. This is reported two weeks after three patients from Kerala were found infested with the virus.

One of the cases was confirmed in Delhi while the other was reported from Telangana, said a press release issued by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry here today.

The detection of these two cases amidst a fresh scare of the outbreak in view of the rising number of such cases in Italy and Iran.

The Ministry's statement said that the patient from Delhi has travel history from Italy and the other one from Telangana. The detail information of these two cases is yet to be received from the health officials.

According to reports the Telangana Health Department has tested over 109 samples in the last couple of months of the patients suspected to have contracted coronavirus but all of them tested negative. There are about 100 people in Telangana who are quarantined at present.

The earlier three cases were detected in three medical students who had returned home for Wuhan in China where this virus first broke into an epidemic.

Meanwhile, China has reported over 40 deaths due to this virus outbreak taking the total death toll to 2,912. Chinese health officials said on Monday, as the rapid spread of the epidemic wreaks havoc globally causing over 3,000 deaths and infecting more than 88,000 people.
