New Delhi/Mumbai, Mar 21: With new cases of COVID-19 being reported from Gujarat and Karnataka the number of coronavirus positive cases reached 298. According to the Ministry of Health, 35 fresh cases were reported from various parts of the country taking the tally to 298 on Saturday.

Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh too joined the list of the COVID-19 positive states in the country with four and two positive cases reported respectively from these states.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to change the testing criteria for COVID-19 to include all pneumonia cases irrespective of travel or contact history. Earlier, the tests were conducted on patients who have travel or contact history.

Meanwhile, the Indian stardom came in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of 'Janata Curfew' and ‘social distancing’ on Sunday. According to agency reports, film stars and celebrities from Bollywood and their counterparts from the southern film industry have come out in support of the Prime Minister’s call to observe the ‘Janata Curfew on Sunday to ward off the COVID-19 virus.

The Prime Minister had urged the people in his Thursday address to the nation on coronavirus pandemic and appealed them to follow ‘Janata Curfew’ by staying at home from 7 am to 9 pm as a precautionary measure.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan was the first to support the PM followed by Shahrukh Khan, Kamal Hassan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Rajkumar Hirani, Shahid Kapur, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, Shankar Mahadevan, and others.

Akshay Kumar urged his fans to participate and support the Janata Curfew on Sunday. It is an excellent initiative by PM Narendra Modi, he said in a tweeter message.
