Mumbai, March 23: During the "Janta Curfew", when the entire nation expressed the gratitude and gave a shout-out to all the medical professionals, nurses, airport staff and other responders for their immense support during the coronavirus crisis on Sunday 5pm, the Bollywood celebrities, too, did not back down to thank them. The Bollywood celebs participated in the inititaive by stepping out in their balconies, terraces and clapped to show their appreciation towards them.

When PM Narendra Modi had called for "Janta Curfew" on Sunday, he had said that state authorities will, through a siren, alert people to come out to their doorsteps or balconies to express gratitude to those who have been providing essential services during this crisis. He had urged to people to clap, ring bells or bang utensils for five minutes as sign of appreciation.
 
Supporting the initiative, many celebrities like Lata Mangeshkar, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, shared the videos of clapping and ringing the bells on the social media  Many other Bollywood stars also made sure to participate in the community activity with full enthusiasm and positivity. Many actors went live on social media to show how they are cheering for the heroes of the nation.
 
Amitabh Bachchan shared the scenario from outside his house on Instagram and wrote alongside, "Historic .. we are ONE .. and we have WON !! “शंख बजे औ ताल बजे , औ बजी है गणपत आरती , अद्भुत दृश्य सुना विश्व नें हम उत्तम उज्ज्वल भारती “ ~ AB At 5 pm on March 22nd the entire nation came out & applauded NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS! PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN - JAI HIND."
Lata Mangeshkar, who was one of the first celebrities to tweet her gratitude, said this post was for all the selfless people protecting the citizens of this country amid coronavirus outbreak.
 
Sharing a video of him banging a thali at his balcony, veteran actor Anupam Kher thanked "to all those who tirelessly and selflessly helped others in the difficult times."
 

Akshay Kumar stepped out of his home with his neighbors and thanked the essential service providers by clapping and beating plates for them.
 
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were seen twinning in white and stepping out on to the balcony of their South Mumbai home and cheering and hooting for the heroes.
 
Varun Dhawan was seen applauding the essential service providers with his entire family, including dad David Dhavan, brother Rohit and little niece.
