London, March 25: Prince Charles who is Queen Elizabeth II's son and heir to the British throne, has tested positive for coronavirus. The Clarence House confirmed that the 71-year-old royal had been diagnosed with the coronavirus in a statement released. "The Prince of Wales is displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health", a Clarence House spokesman said on Wednesday, adding that he was self-isolating at a royal estate in Scotland.
Prince Charles had a number of private meetings following the March 12 event with Highgrove and Duchy individuals, all of whom have been made aware of the situation. However, it is not known how he caught the virus because of his busy schedule of public events in recent weeks.
The spokesperson further revealed that the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles, was also tested but she has not contracted the virus. "In accordance with the government and medical advice, the couple is now self-isolating at home in Scotland."
Prince Charles’s office says: “It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”

Being the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II, he has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952. Along with this he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
Queen Elizabeth, 93, last week moved from Buckingham Palace to the Winsor Castle, where she was joined by Prince Philip, 98, who was earlier in Sandringham. The Buckingham Palace said, "Her Majesty The Queen remains in good health. The Queen last saw The Prince of Wales briefly on the morning of 12th March and is following all the appropriate advice with regard to her welfare."
Last Tuesday, the Palace said the 93-year-old monarch was rearranging her diary "as a sensible precaution and for practical reasons in the current circumstances." Prince Charles, 71, is the eldest child of the Queen and her 98-year-old husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
