The silver lining in the coronavirus pandemic, which has created havoc throughout the nation, is that humanity is still alive in this materialistic world. As reported earlier, there were sportsperson who had pledged their support in fighting against the virus, helped the needy people. It is now that more sportspersons have stepped up to help in this crisis by donating money to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund and the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Virat Kohli
 
The Indian Cricket team captain has announced that he along with actress and his wife Anushka Sharma will support the PM-CARES Fund and the state of Maharashtra of Chief Minister's Relief Fund. However, they have not revealed the amount they would be donating.
 
Sachin Tendulkar
 
The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar has donated a sum of Rs. 50 lakh with Rs. 25 lakh each to the PM Relief Fund and CM Relief Fund (Maharashtra) to aid the battle against the virus.
 
Rohit Sharma
 
The hitman and the opening batsman has decided to donate Rs. 45 lakh to PM-CARES Fund and Rs. 25 lakh CM Relief Fund (Maharashtra). In addition to this, the cricketer also being an animal lover has pledged to Rs 5 lakhs each to Feeding India Organisation and Welfare of Stray Dogs as many dogs are being affected due to the lockdown.
 
Mithali Raj
 
The ODI skipper of women's cricket team Mithali Raj has handed out Rs. 10 lakh with Rs. 5 lakh each going into the accounts of PM Relief Fund and to CM Relief Fund (Telangana).
 
Sathiyan Gnanasekran
 
On Monday, India's one of the top paddler Sathiyan Gnanasekran has granted Rs. 1.5 Lakh. The 27-year-old has donated Rs. 1.25 lakh CM Relief Fund (Tamil Nadu) and the remaining amount to PM Relief Fund.
Anil Kumble
 
The former cricket and legendary spinner Anil Kumble has decided to "bowl out" coronavirus by donating to the Central and Karnataka state relief. However, the former captain did not disclose the amount he will be donating.
Manu Bhaker
 
The Asian Games gold medallist, shooter Manu Bhaker being just 18 gave out Rs 1 lakh to the Haryana Relief Fund to help the state combat the pandemic which infected 43 people in the state.
Suresh Raina
 
Another top batsman Suresh Raina has also donated a sum Rs. 52 lakh with Rs.31 lakh to the PM-CARES Fund & Rs. 21 lakh to the UP CM’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Mary Kom
 
The six-time world champion and ace boxer Mary Kom had handed out Rs. 1 crore. The 37-year-old said she has given her consent for release of Rs one crore from her MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) Fund towards the relief fund.
 
Neeraj Chopra
 
The Commonwealth Games gold medallist, javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has come forward with a sum of Rs. 3 lakh. The athlete has donated Rs. 2 lakh to PM relief Fund and Rs. 1 lakh Haryana Relief Fund.
Ajinkya Rahane
 
Indian Test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has donated Rs 10 lakh to the Maharashtra Chief Minister's Relief Fund to contain the virus.
Other than athletes, sports bodies have also contributed to combating the virus.
 
BCCI
 
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that it will hand out Rs. 51 crore to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES Fund) to contribute towards strengthening the nation’s disaster management capacities and encourage research to combat COVID-19 and protect Indian citizens.

The All India Football Federation has pledged to contribute Rs. 25 lakhs to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s PM CARES Fund.
Hockey India
 
Hockey India on Wednesday pledged to contribute Rs 25.00 lakh towards the PM Cares Fund in a bid to join India's fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic. The decision was taken by the Hockey India Executive Board after the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced a special emergency fund for the nation to fight the COVID-19 crisis.
As reported earlier, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, Indian shuttler PV Sindhu, former batsman Gautam Gambhir and the star wrestler Bajrang Punia have also donated in the Relief Fund.
