'24x7 available for taking suggestions', PM Modi takes feedback from CMs on lockdown extension beyond April 14

New Delhi, April 11: In its third instance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a meeting via video-conferencing with CMs to take their feedback on whether the 21-nation-wide lockdown be extended beyond April 14 to stem the tide of the infections. This is after many states like Telangana, Odisha, Punjab extended their lock down after April 15. PM Narendra Modi seen wearing a mask during video-conferencing with the CMs over COVID19.

"I am available 24x7. Any chief minister can speak to me and give suggestions on COVID-19 anytime. We should stand together shoulder-to-shoulder. If we follow a common strategy we can defeat coronavirus and the losses that we are incurring due to this crisis," PM Modi said.
 
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal suggested to PM that the lockdown should be extended till April 30 all over India. Meanwhile Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh recommended extension of national lockdown by at least a fortnight in addition to special concessions for industry and agriculture sectors urgently. He also asked for faster supply of rapid testing kits.
 
Also Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey suggested the lock down to be extended by more 15 days. The number of corona patients in Maharashtra have surged up to 1666 on Saturday after noting an increase of 92 patients in last 24 hours. Meanwhile in India, the total of corona patients have reached 7648 including 750 recovered cases.
