IAF is playing a key role in the fight against the pandemic ferrying medical and essential supplies to different parts of the country. It also evacuated Indians from China and Iran after the outbreak.

IAF also helped out the neighboring country, Maldives which needs medical assistance due to the virus. India delivered 6.2 tonnes of essential medicines and hospital consumables to Maldives, which were stuck due to the 21-day coronavirus lockdown in the country on April 2. The consignment was airlifted to Male by an IAF C-130 aircraft as part of ‘Operation Sanjeevani’.
