Speaking about it, Rahul, who turned 28 recently said, "Since it's a special day for me, me and Gully have decided to something very sweet and something very special."

He further added, "I have decided to donate my cricket pads, my gloves, helmets and some of my jerseys to our collaboration partner Bharat Army. They are going to auction these things out and the funds will go towards the Aware Foundation. It's a foundation that looks towards helping children. It is very special and I couldn't pick a better day to do this."

It is not the first time he has donated funds for a good cause. Even in the past, the Manglorean donated funds to multiple animal welfare organizations. Last year, he also paid for the treatment of a child suffering from cancer, who has now fully recovered from the disease.

It is not only limited to this, he regularly takes on social media to support charitable organizations. He has also voiced his support for Phool Versha, a charitable organization feeding impoverished members of society amidst the lockdown. He also supported stray happy, an organization that feeds stray animals in Bengaluru.

Following his slump in the last year, he has now become an integral part of the India team in limited-overs.
