Trump said that the US is not happy with that whole situation. He said, "We believe it could have been stopped at the source. It could have been stopped quickly, and it wouldn’t have spread all over the world. And we think that should have happened. So we’ll let you know at the appropriate time, but we are doing serious investigations."

Trump was also asked if the US administration would consider doing the same as Germany planning to send a bill of 130 billion euros to China for the damages caused by the coronavirus.

On that, he said, "We can do something much easier than that. We have ways of doing things a lot easier than that. But Germany is looking at things and we’re looking at things. And we’re talking about a lot more money than Germany is talking about."

Earlier, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro accused China of sending low-quality and even counterfeit coronavirus antibody testing kits to the United States and of "profiteering" from the pandemic.

The virus has so far killed more than two lakh people and infected over 30 lakh globally. The US has been the worst hit by the virus, according to the latest reports that says more than 55, 000 people have died and over 10 lakh are infected with the virus. The pandemic has shut down huge swathes of the economy, leaving tens of millions unemployed.
