Canadian PM Justin Trudeau thanks India for help in repatriation of stranded nationals

New Delhi, April 29: During a telephonic conversation, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appreciated PM Narendra Modi and his Government for their help in the process of repatriation of Canadians stranded in India while discussing the ongoing developments of the coronavirus pandemic.

The two leaders have agreed that the partnership between India and Canada could contribute meaningfully to the global effort to fight the pandemic, especially through collaboration in research and technology aimed at finding a vaccine or therapeutic solutions to coronavirus pandemic.
 
 
Both of them agreed to continue cooperating closely and noted the value of the important people-to-people ties between the two countries. The conversation also focused on global coordination, through the G20, on the pandemic response, and to stabilize the global economy.
 
Trudeau also expresses his gratitude for India’s commitment to the continued export of key pharmaceutical products. Having said that, PM Modi also conveyed the assurance that India’s productive capabilities in the pharmaceutical sector would remain available for assisting the citizens of the world, including those of Canada, to the best of India’s abilities.
 
 
Meanwhil, PM Modi also thanked the Canadian prime minister for the assistance and support extended to the Indian citizens, especially students, in Canada. He offered his condolences to Canadians over the killing of 22 persons during a shooting rampage, the worst on the country’s soil, in the province of Nova Scotia last week.
