Participate in #9MinuteChallenge: RSS appeals people

Nagpur, Apr 5: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has appealed to the people to participate in the #9MinuteChallenge given by the Prime Minister.

RSS Sarkaryawah Suresh alias Bhayyaji Joshi in a statement urged the citizens to light lamps in their houses at 9 pm tonight and experience the unity and resolve of the 130 crore Indians in this war against the Coronavirus pandemic.

Joshi said that the Prime Minister has given a program to the citizens to light lamp, torch or candle at 9 pm tonight to show solidarity in fighting this COVID-19.

Let us, therefore, follow his instructions and light lamp, candles and mobile torch in our balconies, verandahs, and on the rooftops tonight and enlighten the social mind by remembering Mother India, he appealed.

He also urged all to take care of their health in this period of crisis.

Senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar too asked the people to support the Prime Minister in this fight against Coronavirus pandemic by lighting a lamp tonight. He said that we can defeat this pandemic unitedly. This is spreading fast in India after affecting a number of countries across the world. But if we remain united and resolute by following the instructions of our Prime Minister, we can definitely defeat this COVID-19, Indresh Kumar said.

In view of the #9MinuteChallenge of the Prime Minister, Indresh Kumar urged the people to express their unity by turning off the electric lights inside their houses and lighting lamps, candles and mobile flashlights for nine minutes at 9 pm tonight. People of India will have to fight unitedly to win this war against the virus, he said appealing to them not to cross the ‘Lakshman Rekha’ of lockdown.

He gave his message through a poem he composed.

एक हिंद जय हिंद ….

कदम कदम मिलाए जा करोना को हराये जा,

एक हिंद जय हिंद जोर से गुंजाये जा!

घर घर में संदेश हो सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग (social distancing) मेंटेन (maintain ) हो,

स्वर से स्वर को मिलाए जा – कट्टरता को भगाए जा,

Voices of support for PM’s #9MinuteChallenge are pouring from various corners and the communities of the country. Former Rajasthan bureaucrat Farook Ahmad Khan from Jodhpur in a message urged the citizens to follow the Prime Minister’s advice and light tonight.

Lamps have been the source of light in the darkness since the beginning of civilization. They have been the ray of hope and confidence in our moments of darkness, he said adding that lamps have become an integral part of all our shrines cutting across the religious barriers.

Famous actor Anupam Kher, Musician Jubin Nautiyal, a former parliamentarian, ‘Sita’ of Ramayana, Dipika Chikhliya Topiwala, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Vasudevananda Saraswati, and BJP National President Jagat Prasad Nadda urged the people to participate in this show of unity.

Supreme Court lawyer Siraj Qureshi, MRM National Convener Mohd Afzal, Adv Shaheen Pervez, President of Akhil Bhartiya Akhada Parishad, Prayagraj, Swami Narendra Giri Maharaj, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and many others have appealed to the citizens to express their unity, determination and consolidated resolve to fight this Coronavirus by lighting lamps at 9 pm tonight.
