New Delhi, May 11: We must look at the impact of coronavirus on global systems as an opportunity for us, said Union Surface Transport and MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari.

He was addressing a webinar organized by Motherland International Foundation recently. Foundation Patron and senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar participating in the webinar confidently assured that Bharat will present an alternative model of development to the world.

Gadkari said that China has fallen from the world’s grace due to COVID-19. Countries like Japan are offering financial incentives to their industrialists to shift their industries from China to other countries. This is a great moment for Bharat to acquire the world’s number one position and emerge as a global power. He stressed for new innovations in the technology sector for this.

Indresh Kumar chaired the webinar that was attended by President of Motherland International Foundation Dr. A. K. Agrawal, General Secretary Sriram Joshi, and Coordinator of Mahatma Malviya Research Centre for Ganga Dr. Kavita Shah.

During the discussion, Nitin Gadkari said the fight against coronavirus was difficult ut can be won with the cooperation of the people. States like Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, and some others have completely overcome the virus threat. Soon the entire country will be free of COVID-19 pandemic, he said.

The Minister who is famous for his innovative ideas, further said that Bharat is leading the fight against coronavirus pandemic. Bharat is producing PPE kits at a much cheaper cost and on a large scale. The PP kit which was earlier imported from China is now being made in Nagpur at a much lower cost of just Rs. 550. The same is the position of sanitizer production. Today we have so much of sanitizer that we can even export the stock.

He accepted that the lockdown has given rise to joblessness on a great scale. We need to attract foreign investment to tide over the problem of unemployment. He said that the Ganga River can play an important role in providing employment to many. Water transport and tourism can yield a business of Rs.2 lakh crore on the Ganga River alone.

He said that the government can make the infrastructure of Rs 100 lakh crore. The expressway worth Rs. 1200 crore will be completed soon which will facilitate the ‘Çhar Dham Yatra’ round the year.

The Minister also stressed on strengthening the rural economy to make the farmers happy and rich adding that the government was taking steps in this direction.

Gadkari also emphasized to put an end to the negativity arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic. There has been lockdown for the past couple of months and people are on the verge of losing their patience. It is, therefore, necessary to instill new confidence in them to overcome this frustration he said appealing to the media to spread positivity in the society.
