The Curious Case of The Logical Indian portal

We received an article on WhatsApp reported by an online site: the Logical Indian. This article was about the fact-checking of news items that dealt with Muslims in India. It took various news items from mainstream and well-documented print and TV media and said they fact-checked them and found them to be incorrect, by giving different explanations and rationalizations.

This intrigued me further as Google will pick up anyone who is a journalist for a news portal. The fact that there was no information on this lady led me to look further. I Googled the Logical Indian and read their home page which said they were into honest reporting and social issues. It claimed to have been started by two brothers called Abhishek and Anurag Mazumdar ages 28 and 24 with a group of 25 and more volunteers.

I googled them and also found no information on who they were. Every time one clicked on their name one was directed to the Facebook page or some other news items.

There was also a link for the UK and the USA. I clicked on the UK link and found an article clearing up misconceptions about Muslims in the UK. This was filled with statistics and gave a clearer picture of them and their population and other demographics.

Their mandate was to write on India so what was the Logical Indian doing reporting about Muslims in the UK and the USA?

On digging deeper on their Facebook page, I found that the page was created by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. It said “page created by Arvind Kejriwal – The next Prime Minister of India”, on December 13^th, 2013.

Then Facebook says the name was changed to the Logical Indian on December 24^th, 2013.

The page was maintained by CREATIWOK INTERNET LLP, Bangalore 560085, India. Again, there was no address. LLC and LLP are acronyms for Limited Liability Corporations or Limited Liability Partnerships. As the name denotes, they have limited liability.

It further said that the people who manage the page are 27 in India and 1 in Indonesia.

The mystery is –why was the Arvind Kejriwal Facebook which was started in his name changed to Logical India? Who actually owns the Logical Indian and what is the connection between Arvind Kejriwal and the Mazumdar brothers, who do not come up in any search? Why so much secrecy and subterfuge if the site is giving honest reporting? The site does give a lot of positive news on what Arvind Kejriwal is doing for Delhi as well as other news.
