ICCR comes up with 'United We Sing' to encourage people in Corona crisis

New Delhi, May 13: To inspire and strengthen India’s fight against coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) along with the composers, musicians, singers come together with a new motivational song “United We Fight".

The song is aimed to help people to stay united and to encourage them to think positively in these tough times. It is written and composed by Joe Alvares which took ten minutes to write the lyrics and compose it in a day.
 
 
The 3.33 minutes song includes singers like Usha Uthup, Salim Merchant, Shefali Alvares Rashid, Benny Dayal, Sonam Kalra, Chandan Bala Kalyan, Joe Alvares, Salome, and Samira. The music is created by Tubby, Pandit Ravi Chari, Pandit Rakesh Chaurasiya, and Ustad Faisal Qureshi. However, they have shot their parts from the confinement of their homes which was later created into one single video.
 
The song combines English lyrics with notes and beats of Indian classical music and spreads the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam as in the world is one family. It has been sent to the 156 Indian embassies across the world.
 
 
It carries a “message of hope, joy, resilience, fighting spirit and never-say-die attitude of all in our collective fight against Covid-19”, according to a statement from the ministry. The song is meant for an international audience and is created to carry India's message of hope and resilience to the world.
 
This song is an expression of India’s deep appreciation and gratitude to all brave COVID warriors world over risking their lives to protect ours. It is a homage to all the artists and performers who represent the cultural legacy of our countries and who contribute to keep our cultural heritage vibrant and alive, especially in these difficult times,” it added.
 
It is also a “message to the world that together we shall surely win the fight against the Coronavirus and many such challenges that humanity and the human race face”, the ministry said.
