A recent statement by ex-Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan has sent tremors among Hindus across Maharashtra. Chavan in his tweet requested the government to appropriate gold from the temple worth 1 trillion dollars. He asked the government to take this gold under a low-interest borrowing scheme.

Why this is a notorious statement?

The entirety of the world is fighting Covid-19 pandemic and no doubt that governments are running out of resources. So it is obvious that governments need to find new avenues for more resources to fight this. But why just Hindu temples? this is a clear sign of a pseudo-secularism and meant to harm Hindu sentiments; perhaps he is trying to please his Italian née boss. What is it?

Why not use funds of Christian and Muslim religious organisations?

Let's understand the funding patterns of the Christian and Muslim religious organisations.

  1. Christian Organisation: Christian organisations obtain fundings from most of the western countries. For example: "Ayana Charitable Trust", a rebranded version of Gospel for Asia received rupees 826 Cr. alone in 2015-2016. Another NGO Believers Church India received 842 Cr. from its foreign sources. We can mention at least a hundred examples like this.
  2. Muslim Organisations: Since the 1960s, Saudi Arabia has sponsored multi-million dollar effort to export Wahhabi Islam to the world, by 2007, Saudi Arabia had spent close to $2 billion annually on promoting this ideology. In 2011-2013 alone, Indian Muslim organisations received 1700 Cr. to spread Wahabi Islam.

As per the FCRA Analysis, 2011-12 numbers tell us that there are 4193 Christian Organisation and 209 Muslim Organisation which have received thousands of crores funding through FCRA only. Total of 3500 Cr has been received by Christian and Muslim organisations alone in 2011-2012. Accumulated amount through years may bypass the budget of any Indian state easily. Not to mention that this amount they receive for social welfare cause is used for the sole purpose of conversion.

Prithviraj Chavan is not the first. They want to destroy Hindus and their worship places

This is not the first time that some congress leader or left-liberal have said and done harm to a Hindu worship place. It has a long history and it continues till today. Recently Kerala Chief Minster decided to transfer 5 Cr. of Guruvayoor temple for Covid-19 relief. Churches and Mosques in Kerala were spared from this and not single penny asked or transferred. To understand this we need to understand the DNA of Congress and Left.

In India where the majority are Hindus are the least of concern for these people. Jawaharlal Nehru in 1951 said that there shouldn't be any private Hindu temple in India. The Hindu Religious and Charities Endowment Act of 1951 (HRCE) was a result of his “desire” only. This act permits the state government to

A. Takeover and completely control the administration, upkeep, finance, and human resources of Hindu temples

B. Appoint managers to the boards of temples in the name of better administration and then browbeat and control all the activities of these temples.

Question is why only Hindu temples? Why not the Christian and Muslim worship places? Prithviraj Chavan is a mere next-generation leader who is following the footstep of Nehru. Titled towards left with so-called secularism these leaders are nothing but pseudo or fakery in the name of secularism.

The table below explains the discrimination faced by Hindu places under the 1951 HRCE act.

This is nothing moreover, this money received from temples is used to fund Churches and Mosques. As per a report published in TFI. In Andhra Pradesh Tirumala Tirupati temple receives 3100 Cr per year through donations out of which 2635 Cr (i.e. 85%) is taken away by the state government and subsequently diverted to causes and institutions not even remotely connected to the Hindu community or temples – this includes funds to Muslim and Christian churches and mosques, educational institutions, madrasas, and Haj subsidy.

Why not use the funds and assets accumulated by politicians?

More than 80% of Indian politicians are Crorepatis. You can read the list here. Total of these could save India from any pandemic for sure. If decided by leaders of Maharashtra Government they can handle any pandemic single-handedly. As declared to Election Commission by them they are worth billions. Prithviraj Chavan (16 Cr), Sharad Pawar (28 Cr), Supriya Sule (140 Cr), Uddhav Thackery (143 Cr) and much more. So why not donate this all to cause.
