The NCW letter also read as "The Commission is seriously concerned about the increase in crimes against women. The video not only seems to promote violence against women but shows the patriarchal mindset which would send a very wrong message to the society".

In view of the above, the commission asked Tik-Tok India to immediately remove the video and block the ID of the Siddiqui who made it.

After that Siddiqui is seen throwing water on a girl, which is hinted to be acid, while Siddiqui threatens the girl for leaving him for another person. In the next scene, the face of the girl is shown in heavy red makeup hinting at acid burns. The face of the victim is then seen covered in scars.

Siddiqui issued a statement on Instagram and said that his intention was not to hurt anyone in any capacity. "As a social media influencer, I realize my responsibility and apologize to anyone who was offended by the video," he wrote.

Faizal Siddiqui is a member of team nawab and the brother of Amir Siddiqui. His brother Amir has recently been in the hub of controversy after he made a lengthy TikTok video where he gave his opinion on why TikTok is better and has more content than YouTube.

Acid attack is one of the most heinous forms of violence and women especially are its target. Acid attacks have become one of the growing crimes to harass and threaten women in India. There has been a constant demand from various sections of society that convicts in such cases should be given the harshest of punishments as it ruins the life of the acid attack survivor.

According to the latest crime data for 2018 from the National Crime Bureau (NCRB) shows that the number of attacks is rising steadily in India. The data shows that a total of 596 acid attack cases were reported in 2017 and 2018 This is almost or less than half the number of incidents each year. The lowest number of cases (244) were reported in 2014, with 201 people charge-sheeted.
