Two LeT terrorists killed in an encounter at Khud Hanjipora area of Kulgam district

Srinagar, May 25: A top terrorist of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and another operative were neutralised by security forces during a gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.

 

 

“2 terrorists neutralised in an encounter in Manzgam area of Kulgam district. 34 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF, and Kulgam Police were on the job,” confirmed Vijay Kumar, IGP Kashmir.

 

A police officer said that the cordon and search operation (CASO) was conducted from this morning on receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area. Apart from this, a search operation was carried out in the area by joint forces including 34 RR, CRPF and Kulgam Police.

 

He further said that immediately after encircling the place where the terrorists were stranded, the terrorists were asked to surrender. But the terrorists opened fire on the search party. In response to this, the security forces also fired and the encounter started.
