Akshay Kumar hands over Rs. 45 Lac to CINTAA for Junior Artistes and Daily Wagers

Mumbai, May 27: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is continuing to assist the people who are affected due to this coronavirus crisis. Now the actor has come forward to help the members of the Cine & TV Artistes Association (CINTAA). He has donated an amount of Rs 45 lakh for the artists who are badly hit by the Coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide lockdown.

The junior artistes and daily wage workers had been facing financial problems due to he industry shutdown since March. according to CINTAA Sr. Joint Secretary Amit Behl, Akshay Kumar extended his help towards these workers and asked for a list of its members and transferred Rs. 45 lakh for their support. With the donation money, CINTAA members will get Rs 3000 a month until they can get back on their feet after work resumes in the industry.
 
 
Behl informed that the whole initiative was taken up by one of the committee members and actor Ayub Khan who spoke to Jaaved Jaaferi and Sajid Nadiadwala. “We have been grateful. This entire thing was initiated by our executive committee member Ayub Khan. He spoke to Jaaved Jaaferi. Jaaved then disclosed the issue to Sajid Nadiadwala who then spoke to Akshay Kumar. Akshay in no time asked for the list of our members and we sent him the list.
 
 
In a similar heartwarming gesture, Salman Khan began assisting the daily wage earners of the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE).
 
Earlier, Akshay had pledged Rs 25 crore to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s newly launched fund PM-CARES to provide relief due to the crisis. The Akshay also has donated Rs 3 crore to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for medical essentials to BMC in the making of personal protection equipment, masks, and rapid testing kits.
 
Apart from this he also donated 1,000 smartwatches to Mumbai Police and 500 wristbands that have sensors to detect Coronavirus symptoms to the Nashik police for their safety amid the COVID-19 outburst.
