13 personnel of Sashastra Seema Bal test positive

New Delhi, May 4: Following Border Security Forces (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) personnel testing positive for the deadly coronavirus, 13 personnel of border guarding force Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have tested positive for coronavirus till now, officials said on Monday.

 

 

It was reported that nine of the officials got infected who hailed from the 25th battalion of the force based in Ghitorni area of the national capital while the rest are from other locations. All the personnel has been put in hospital isolation facilities, they said. It is one of the paramilitary forces or Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) under the Union home ministry.

 

Earlier on Sunday, 25 more jawans of BSF from the 126th battalion in Delhi had tested positive on Sunday, taking the total number of the virus cases in the border guarding force to 42 whereas in Tripura 12 BSF personnel were tested positive for the virus.

 

Within the CRPF personnel after CRPF Additional Director General Jawed Akhtar's stenographer was confirmed of the virus the CRPF headquarters in Delhi was sealed. So far, 144 CRPF personnel have tested positive including 135 from 31 Battalion in Delhi's Mayur Vihar phase 3. The entire battalion has been sealed since then. One CRPF personnel had died earlier, one recovered and test result of at least 20 more personnel are still awaited.
