Borussia Dortmund will go against Schalke 04 at their home stadium, Signal Iduna Park but with strict behind-closed-doors restriction. “While it was no normal restart given the empty stands and other restrictions, it was crucial to resume play. The Bundesliga season finale will take place at the end of June ”, DFL CEO Christian Seifert said with June 27-28 as the likely date.

Having said that, all the teams will have to undergo a seven-day training camp in complete isolation before May 16. All players will be tested before entering into camps avoiding the risk of any infection. About 300 people, including players, staff, and officials, will be in and around the stadiums during matchdays.

Combating the virus successfully, South Korea was the first country to conduct a sporting event after Korean Baseball Organisation (KBO) League started with Tuesday’s season opener between Daegu’s Samsung Lions and Changwon-based NC Dinos.

Even President Moon Jae-in has welcomed the return of the sport to the country. “The world will learn, with a close look, how to enjoy sports while making quarantine and everyday life coexist,” the president posted on social media. “I expect sports to give hope to the people desiring the recovery of their daily lives.
