Piyush Goyal Clarifies Aatmanirbhar Bharat Does Not Close Doors For Of Global Economic Activity

New Delhi, July 18: Clarifying that India has not closed its door under Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said that the country is opening the door to wider engagement, deeper trade relationships.

The Minister said while addressing a webinar organized by ASSOCHAM & IFCCI on Business continuity between India and France during COVID-19’ along with French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade & Economic Attractiveness, Franck Riester.
 
 
Goyal said, "When we talk of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, India isn't closing its doors. India, on the contrary, is opening the door to wider engagement, deeper trade relationships, we want to be part of global supply chains and we want to be a trusted partner of international economic activity."
 
Further, he asserted that France and India are not in competition but complement each other. France brings very high-technology products to the table, items of great need, and interest. India brings several products that today would be almost impossible to be manufactured in France. We have a lot to offer on the services side, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, etc.
 
The Minister also underlined that the bilateral trade between the two countries had surpassed the USD 10 billion-mark last year and targets to cross USD 15 billion in trade partnership. France and India can together work in several areas and complement each other.
 
"COVID-19 gives us the opportunity to be Bold, Innovative, Prudent, Efficient, and to re-engineer our business processes," he said. They also Spoke about strengthening bilateral trade between the 2 nations.
