The minister and the Army Chief would be flying from Delhi to Leh on Friday and would also interact with the soldiers injured who were injured in the violent clash carried out by Chinese People's Liberation Army between June 15 and 16 who had attempted to unilaterally change the status quo during the de-escalation. In the face-off, 20 Indian soldiers were martyred.

According to the reports, Singh might visit forward locations where Indian troops are deployed. Earlier, on June 25, the Army Chief had visited forward areas in Eastern Ladakh and reviewed the operational preparedness in the forward areas of this sector on his two-day visit to Ladakh.

Meanwhile, on June 30, a meeting was conducted between Indian and Chinese corps commanders at Chushul in a businesslike manner maintaining the COVID-19 protocols. This was the third meeting of the top military officials to discuss the disengagement at the faceoff sites along the LAC.
