PM Modi speaks with seven CMs to discuss COVID-19 crisis, floods

New Delhi, July 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with the Chief Ministers of seven states to discuss the coronavirus and flood situations. He spoke to the Chief Ministers of Bihar, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

States like Assam and Bihar have been suffering due to the floods during the monsoon season. In his telephonic conversation with Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, PM Modi assured all support to Assam in dealing with floods which have claimed 84 lives so far. He even talked about the raging blaze at oil India's Baghjan gas well.
 
 
PM Modi also called up to Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat to enquire about army troopers affected by Covid-19 and assured all the assistance needed for the treatment of army personnel. On Saturday, Rawat stated that a total of 110 army personnel have been tested positive for Covid-19 in the state out of which about 100 cases have come in the past 3 to 4 days.
 
Besides them, PM Modi had telephonic conversations with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao, Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur.
 
All of these states have been witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases. While Tamil Nadu is the second worst-hit state in the country after Maharashtra and states like Assam, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana have seen massive growth lately.
