Rajnath Singh discuss strengthening defence ties with his Israeli counterpart

New Delhi, July 25: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Israeli Defence Minister Lt Gen Benjamin Gantz discussed further strengthening defence ties in a telephonic conversation.

Both the Ministers expressed satisfaction at the progress of strategic cooperation between the two countries and discussed possibilities of further strengthening the defence engagements.
 
 
According to the sources, Singh informed his counterpart about India’s border row with China in eastern Ladakh. They also expressed satisfaction at the ongoing collaboration in research and development in fighting pandemic COVID-19 which will not only benefit the two countries but also aid the larger humanitarian cause.
 
Singh invited greater participation of Israeli defence companies under new liberalised foreign direct investment (FDI) regime in defence manufacturing. Meanwhile, the two Ministers exchanged views on regional developments and his counterpart responded positively to an invitation from Singh to visit India at the earliest opportunity.
 
Earlier, it was reported that Israel will be sending high-level research delegation to New Delhi this week to conduct the final stages of testing of advanced technologies for the rapid diagnosis of the coronavirus with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
