The Opposition parties are constantly busy in stirring up controversy regarding the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the fact that this dream of millions of Hindus to see a magnificent Ram Temple in Ayodhya is finally about to be fulfilled. They are making up some or the other reason to shut down the construction of the temple that was supposedly done several decades ago. Thanks to the opposition parties, Hindus had to struggles for these many years to build the temple.

This time, it is the Communist Party of India (CPI) who is having a hard time digesting that Bhoomi Pujan ceremony will be taking place on August 5. With the ceremony being days away, CPI's Binoy Viswam has written a letter to the Central government demanding not to air the ceremony on state-run TV channel Doordarshan. In the letter, the CPI asserted that the use of Doordarshan to televise the religious function at Ayodhya is against the "accepted norms of national integrity". It added, "The demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992 and the subsequent mobilization around the Ram Janbhoomi Temple in Ayodhya has been a source of conflict and disharmony in the country for decades now."

However, it is not only the CPI who is being nosy about this but also the Congress. Saket Gokhale, a major supporter of Congress had filed in Allahabad High Court demanding a stay on the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony at Ayodhya stating that it is a ‘violation of the coronavirus guidelines’. He was ready to stop the ceremony at any cost. Meanwhile, the High Court found no reason to put a stay on the ceremony and stated the entire petition is based on assumptions. "In the view of whatever stated above, we do not find any just reason to interfere in the matter. The writ petition is dismissed." noted the Allahabad High Court bench.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar also gave statements about the ceremony. According to him, PM Modi thinks, the pandemic can be mitigated by building Ram Mandir at Ayodhya (with no proof). Further, he said that after the lockdown, the government should focus on damage caused due to the virus instead of Ram Mandir. Pawar himself needs to focus on the fact of increasing cases in Maharashtra which is the worst-hit state in India. Responding to this, BJP MP Rakesh Sinha slammed saying that the Bhoomi Poojan of Ram Janmabhoomi was not being waited for today, but for centuries and the Prime Minister himself is going to Ayodhya. In such a situation, the Congress is questioning so that the Bhoomi Pujan is postponed.

Even Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray who was once the face of Hindutva suggested that the ceremony be conducted virtually (through video conference). But the VHP leader Alok Kumar gave a befitting reply to his 'blind suggestion'. He said, “The statement of Uddhav Thackeray only shows his blind opposition and we do mourn such a fall of what once was a Hindutva party lead by the legendary Shri Bala Sahab Thackeray,". He said that Bhoomi Pujan is an auspicious ritual which he said cannot be done through e-conference. "Before starting any construction work we worship mother earth, seek her permission to dig and construct structures and obtain her blessings for the mission,” he added.

PM Narendra Modi is invited to the ceremony but the opposition leaders are also having a problem with it. They are wrongly accusing that PM Modi taking part in the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony will give a political mileage to the BJP. However, one needs to understand that it was a struggle of several decades that tested the time and patience of Hindus who contributed in building Ram Mandir.
