China tries to shift COVID-19 blame on Brazil

Beijing, July 03: After spreading COVID-19 across the world and infecting moreover 10 million people, the Chinese government came up with the new theory saying COVID-19 was first active in Brazil's Santa Catalina as far back as November 2019.

 The Chinese government mouthpiece Global Times accused Brazil was first detected there coming up with a new study. China further alleges that the local scientists had detected the virus in several samples of human sewage, two months before the first case was officially 'detected' in the Americas.
 
 
Global times tweeted, "A new study has revealed the novel coronavirus was circulating in Brazil' s Santa Catalina as far back as November 2019, as local scientists detected the virus in samples of human sewage. This is two months earlier than the first reported COVID19 infection in the Americas."
 
Since the outbreak, most of the countries are criticizing China for the COVID-19 including the United States and Australia. They have criticized Beijing over a lack of transparency during the early days of the pandemic whereas China has labeled the allegations as “preposterous”.
 
US President Donald Trump has even called COVID-19 as 'China Made Virus.' Trump even warned China that if China was knowingly responsible for the virus then China should face consequences.  Even 27 Countries have signed the petition of complaint in the UNHRC against China.
 
The petition stated concerns on arbitrary detentions, widespread surveillance and restrictions, atrocities on Uighurs, and other minorities in China. Some governments want to sue Beijing for damages and reparations. Australia has called for an international investigation into the pandemic and everything related to it. Australia implied that China was hiding facts, and China accused Australia of political manipulation.
 
However, China's frustration has spiked up after the WHO announced that they are sending the special team to investigate the origin of the virus next week. China is trying to divert the focus through the new theory. Since then China is trying to "N numbers" of this to distract the world from the current situation.
 
Meanwhile, Brazil which is the second-worst affected countries has recorded over 1.5 million coronavirus cases to date. The virus death toll has crossed the 60,000-mark in Brazil.
