PM Modi congratulates Putin for completion of Russian vote on Constitutional Reforms

New Delhi, July 03: During the telephonic conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly congratulated Putin for the success of the 75th-anniversary celebrations of the victory in the Second World War and for the successful completion of the Russian vote on Constitutional Reforms in Russia.

Both the leaders agreed to further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Russia. Putin also reiterated his commitment to further strengthen the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two countries in all spheres.
 
 
PM Modi also recalled the participation of an Indian contingent in the military parade held in Moscow on 24 June, as a symbol of abiding friendship between the people of India and Russia. They discussed the effective measures taken by their respective countries to address the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. On this occasion, they agreed to have a closer India-Russia relationship for jointly tackling the challenges of the post-COVID world.
 
Both the leaders also discussed topical issues on the Russian-Indian agenda and confirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the privileged strategic partnership between the two countries and close cooperation both in the bilateral format and within international organizations and associations. It was agreed to continue contacts at various levels.
 
The two leaders agreed to maintain the momentum of bilateral contacts and consultations, leading to the annual bilateral Summit to be held in India later this year. PM Modi conveyed his keenness to welcome President Putin in India for the annual bilateral Summit later in 2020.
 
 
Moreover, Putin thanked PM Modi for the phone call and also thanked the PM Modi for his greetings and for the participation of the Indian Armed Forces in the Victory Parade on Red Square on June 24. Last month Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the 75th anniversary of the Victory Day celebration in the Russian capital on June 24 in an attempt to strengthen ties with the Russian counterpart.
