COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 60.85 % in India

New Delhi, July 06: The coronavirus situation in India is still not under total control. Amid such situation, the Health Ministry on Monday said that a total of 4,24,433 people affected with Coronavirus have recovered in the country where those recovered in last 24 hours count 15,350. "With this the recovery rate of India has reached to 60.85 per cent", the statement read.

The Health and Family Welfare Ministry further said, a total of 24,248 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country during the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 6,97,413. In a single day, 425 deaths were reported taking the nationwide toll to 19,639. Presently, the total number of active Corona cases in the country is 2,53,287.
 
Meanwhile, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research a total of 1,80,596 tests of Corona virus samples were conducted by the various laboratories in the country in the last 24 hours. "So far, 99,69,622 tests have been conducted", the statement in relation added.
 
ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for COVID-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories. As of now, total 1,105 laboratories across India have been given approval to conduct the test for COVID-19 including 788 government laboratories and 317 private laboratory chains.
 
The institition has also partnered with Bharat Biotech company promising the country and the world to get the vaccine against COVID-19 by August 15 this year. The vaccine developed by ICMR and Bharat Biotech have entered the human clinical trial rounds last week and are soon set for its world-wide approval.
