Veteran Actor Jagdeep breathes his last at 81; Celebrities pay last repsects

Mumbai, June 09: Veteran Bollywood actor Jagdeep Aka Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jaffery breathed his last at the age of 81 on Wednesday night, at his Bandra residence in Mumbai, owing to age-related health problems. The late actor, Jagdeep is the father of Javed Jaffrey and Naved Jaffrey."He was not keeping well due to age-related issues," producer Mehmood Ali, a close family friend said.

Jagdeep began his journey in the Bollywood world as a child artist in B. R. Chopra's Afsana. He established himself as a comedian from the movie Brahmachari. He appeared in famous hits like Purana Mandir and 3D Saamri. Jagdeep has also appeared in numerous horror movies too including Ramsay Brothers’ Purana Mandir and 3D Saamri.
 
Appearing in more than 400 films, Jaydeep became a familiar face in Hindi films, essaying the goofy funnyman in each and every film. He made an entire generation of audience laugh with his brilliant comic timings and of course, acting prowess. He was counted among the most popular comedians in the 1970s and 1980s.
 
Jaydeep was known for his iconic role 'Soorma Bhopali' in the blockbuster film 'Sholay'. After that role, he became one of the most sought-after actors for comic roles and became a familiar face in Hindi films. The actor played the role of Salman Khan’s father in the iconic movie Andaz Apna Apna. He last worked in Masti Nahi Sasti" in 2017.
