She mentioned that the students of India have been deeply impacted by the floods that hit states like Bihar and Assam, which cause mass destruction for the citizens. She took to Twitter to show her "support" for the postponement of the exam.

"It’s deeply unfair that students of India are asked to sit for national exams during the Covid-19 pandemic and while millions have also been impacted by the extreme floods," Greta tweeted. "I stand with their call to #PostponeJEE_NEETinCOVID," she added.

Earlier climate change activists Vanessa Nakate had also tweeted and asked the government to postpone these exams. Apart from Greta Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, Subramanian Swamy, Yuva Neta Aaditya Thackeray, DMK President MK Stalin have already raised their voice against the exam and have demanded the center to postpone the exams.

This comes after Supreme Court had dismissed a plea seeking the postponement of JEE (Main) April 2020 and NEET (Undergraduate) examinations, which are scheduled to be held in September, amid a spurt in COVID-19 cases saying the precious year of students "cannot be wasted" and "life has to go on".

Moreover, the JEE (Main) is scheduled to be held between September 1 to September 6 and NEET 2020 will be conducted on September 13. From making fresh masks being available at the exam centers to separate isolation rooms for candidates, JEE, NEET 2020 exams will be held with a series of precautions to prevent COVID-19 spread.
