Amitabh Bachchan tests negative for COVID-19, discharged from hospital

Mumbai, Aug 3: Nearly after 22 days being tested positive for COVID-19, legendary Amitabh Bachchan tested negative for coronavirus and discharged from Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital. However, the actor will remain under home quarantine at his Mumbai residence 'Jalsa'.

His son, Abhishek was the first one to share the news of his father’s recovery. "My father, thankfully, has tested negative on his latest Covid-19 test and has been discharged from the hospital. He will now be at home and rest. Thank you all for all your prayers and wishes for him," tweeted Abhishek.
 
 
Amitabh expressed his gratitude to well-wishers for their continued support and prayers.
 
 
Meanwhile, his son Abhishek Bachchan is yet to test negative and continues to get treated at the hospital. He wrote in another tweet, “I, Unfortunately, due to some comorbidities remain Covid-19 positive and remain in hospital. Again, thank you all for your continued wishes and prayers for my family. Very humbled and indebted. I’ll beat this and come back healthier! Promise.”
 
 
Both Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan had tested positive for Covid-19 on July 11 with mild symptoms and were hospitalized the same night. Amitabh Bachchan's wife Jaya Bachchan tested negative. Meanwhile, Abhishek's wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and his daughter also tested positive and was isolated at home. However, the two were admitted to the hospital after they developed symptoms for the disease. They were discharged from the hospital after tested negative for the COVID-19 on July 27.
