Ayodhya, Aug 5: Describing the historic moment of bhumipujan of the grand Ram Temple at Sri Ram Janmasthan here on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated “Sri Ram Sab ke hain” i.e. Sri Ram belongs to all.

PM Modi was addressing a select gathering of sants, acharyas, and social activists at Sri Ramjanmbhumi Mandir bhumipujan program organized here for the construction of a magnificent Sri Ram Mandir by the Sri Ramjansthan Teerthkshetra Nyas.

Chairman of the Nyas Mahant Nrityagopal Das Maharaj, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohanrao Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were prominently present on the dais.

Prime Minister Modi donning the traditional golden-colored ‘dhoti’ and ‘kurta’ performed the bhumipujan of the Ram Mandir. He said that with this the centuries-old wait for this moment has now ended.

A grand temple will now be there for our ‘Ram Lalla’ who has been housed in a makeshift temple of the tent for nearly three decades, Modi said while chants of ‘Jai Siya Ram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ filled the sky.

The event heralds the end of the centuries-long wait Modi said. Today the RamJanmasthan breaks free of the cycle of breaking and getting built again going on for centuries, he added. The proposed Ram Temple will become the modern symbol of our age-old traditions and culture, he said.

The temple will become a center of our eternal faith and nationalist sentiments. It will also become the center of our collective will, the Prime Minister said adding that it will continue to inspire our next generations in consolidating faith, belief, and collective resolution.

Describing the construction of Ram Temple as a celebration of uniting the country, Modi said. He further added that despite the efforts to negate the very existence of Sri Ram, He still rules our hearts and minds and is the basis of our culture. Ram is everywhere. Ram belongs to all. (Ram sarvatra hain, Ram sab ke hain), he said adding that the temple would stand for infinite times inspiring the entire humanity for ages.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his welcome address praised the foresight and wisdom of Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that this has paved the way for peaceful resolution of the vexed issue of Ram Temple and today we are witnessing the bumipujan of the grand temple here at the birthplace of Sri Ram.

ram_1  H x W: 0Calling this as the happiest moment, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohanrao Bhagwat recalled how the third Sarasanghchalak Balasaheb Devras had forewarned about the continued and sustained campaign for the Ramjanmabhumi temple was necessary to get the dream realized. After three decades, his words came true, Bhagwat said adding that the entire country is celebrating this moment of happiness.

He said we believed in the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” i. e. the entire world is one family. This temple is the basis for us to carry this message with renewed vigor. Today marks the beginning of a new Bharat, he said.

Recalling the contribution of all those who made every sacrifice for Sri Ram Janmabhumi temple including Ashok Singhal and many others, Bhagwat said that though they are not amongst us in their physical forms, they must be watching this historic moment with satisfaction and happiness.

We must discard all kinds of discriminations and rise as one united and consolidated society taking all with us on to the path of peace, progress, and prosperity, he appealed to the society.

Trust Chairman Mahant Nrityagopaldas Maharaj and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also expressed their thoughts on the occasion.

Earlier, after his arrival at Ayodhya, Prime Minister Modi visited the Hanumangarhi Temple and offered puja to the presiding deity Lord Hanuman. On way, he planted a ’Parijat’ sapling at the Ramjanmabhumi premises before proceeding to the bhumipujan venue. As he reached the RamJanmabhumi and had ‘darshan’ of Ram Lalla, he offered ‘Sashtanga Pranipata’ to Ram Lalla.

The Bhumipujan ceremony was guided by the priests chanting Sanskrit shlokas. The Prime Minister performed pujan of a 40 kg silver brick. Sacred soils from over 15,000 places and waters of rivers etc. from 2000 places were also used at the ceremony. Bricks engraved with ‘Sri Ram’ were also used in the puja. These bricks were sent to Ayodhya during the ‘Shila Pujan’ ceremony organized as part of the Ram Janmabhumi movement in the early 90s.
