Ayodhya, August 5: India witnessed a historical movement today as PM Narendra Modi performed Bhoomi Pujan of Ram Mandir. On this grand occasion, the Architect of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and its chief protagonist who led the first political rath yatra in the country, BJP veteran L K Advani expressed his joy at fulfillment of one of his and BJP's long-cherished dream a temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram.
The BJP stalwart said,
“I feel humbled that during Ram Janmabhoomi movement, destiny made me perform a pivotal duty in the form of Ram Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990 which helped galvanise aspirations, energies. ”

Earlier, Advani also added that the construction of the temple was like a dream come true for him. "Sometimes significant dreams take a long time to fruition, but when finally realised, wait becomes worthwhile. One such dream, close to my heart is getting fulfilled. PM is laying the foundation of Ram Mandir. It's a historic & emotional day not only for me but all Indians," he said.
Further he added, "It is my belief that Shri Ram Mandir will represent India as a strong, prosperous, peaceful & harmonious nation with justice for all and exclusion of none so that we can truly usher in Ram Rajya, the epitome of good governance. I am also very happy that due to the decisive verdict of the Supreme Court in November 2019, the construction of Shri Ram Mandir is getting started in an environment of tranquillity. This will go a long way in strengthening the bond between Indians. May Shri Ram bless India and her people always. JAI SHRI RAM."
The BJP veteran was the face of the Ram Temple movement in Ayodhya in the 1990s. He launched a rath yatra across the country to Ayodhya which saw the participation of hundreds of thousands of volunteers from the Sangh Parivar. It led to an outpouring of religious sentiments among Hindus.
