Dharmendra Pradhan calls for switching over to 100% clean fuels in tourist cities

New Delhi, September 28: Biding for the greater proliferation of clean energy, Union Minister of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the need for the use of clean fuels like LNG and PNG in the vehicles used by tourists in the tourist spots.

Addressing a virtual meet on the occasion of the World Tourism Day, Dharmendra Pradhan said, "will help protect the monuments besides favouring the environment and to develop green mobility in the upcoming years in prime tourist destinations in the country." He attended the meeting along with Minister of State (I/c) for Tourism Shri Prahlad Singh Patel.
 
 
Pradhan commended the Ministry of Tourism for its novel initiative 'Dekho Apna Desh' that promotes and encourages local heritage and tourist sites.e spoke about India's rich culture, history, and ancient architectural marvels which offer immense scope for the growth of the tourism industry. Talking about the Internet’s role in making the world a global village, Shri Pradhan called for the effective use of technology to further strengthen India's position as a global tourist hotspot.
 
Stating that the tourism industry offers unprecedented potential for employment generation and youth empowerment, the Minister added that every district of our country has a historic story to share or a legend to narrate. He said as India celebrates 75 years of independence in 2022, we must work on creating more tourism sites around the heroism of our freedom fighters.
