​PM Modi to address the National Youth Parliament on Jan 12

New Delhi, Jan 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to address the National Youth Parliament. According to the Ministry of Education, the top winners of the National Youth Parliament will speak before the Prime Minister on Jan 12 for the valedictory function. The event will be streamed live on the social media channels of Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.

The candidates who have qualified the District and State Levels will be eligible to participate in the National Youth Parliament Festival which will be held on Jan 11 and 12, 2021. The participants of the National Youth Parliament will include 87 state winners from which 29 who came in the first position will be speaking on selected topics while the remaining 58 will be attending the National Youth Parliament.
 
 
The National Service Scheme operating under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organizes the National Youth Conference every year on Jan 12, ever since 2019. It is held on Jan 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The Government of India celebrates the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day. The Parliament is held at three levels of District youth parliament at district level, State youth parliament at state level, National youth parliament at National level.
 
 
The National Youth Parliament aims to encourage the youth of the country to engage and understand public issues in the view of a common man and form opinion and express them in an articulate manner. Their strong voices will be captured and documented to make them available to policy makers to take it forward. The National Youth Parliament is conducted with an objective to hear the voice of the youth from the age of 18 to 25, who are allowed to vote but are not eligible to contest as candidates or the election. The participants will not necessarily be students from educational institutions.
