PM Modi launches the world’s largest vaccine drive! 3 crore now , 30 cr in second phase

New Delhi, January 16: A historic day for all India and Indians! Remembering the shlok ॐ सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः।  Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick-started a never before world's largest COVID 19 vaccination campaign.
PM Modi asserted that this type of large-scale vaccination campaign has never before been run in history. He pointed out that India is vaccinating three crore people in its first phase of vaccination. "There are more than 100 countries having a population of fewer than 3 crores and India is administering vaccination to 3 crore people in the first phase only. In the second phase, we will increase this number to 30 crores," he said.

During the launch, he praised scientists who had been involved in making the vaccine against Corona for the past several months. He said, "Today, many of those scientists who had been involved in making a vaccine against Corona for the past several months deserve special praise. It usually takes years to make a vaccine. But in such a short time, India developed not one, but two Made in India vaccines".
 
 
 
He added India has become an example for the world during a pandemic. He said," In the fight against Corona, we've set an example for the world at many steps. When countries left their citizens, stuck in China amidst this pandemic, on their own, India stepped up & evacuated not only Indians but also people of other nations under Vande Bharat mission."
 
 
 
He further highlighted the importance of the two doses of the vaccine. "I want to remind people of the country that two doses of the Corona vaccine are very important. Experts have said that there should be a gap of one month between both vaccinations," PM Modi said.
 
 
After the launch, Manish Kumar, a sanitation worker in Delhi,  receive the first dose of  COVID-19 vaccine. With that he became the first person to recive vaccine in India. Following him Director of AIIMS Dr. Randeep Guleria also receives the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS, Delhi.
 
 
 
 
India gave the nod for emergency use of two vaccines, one developed by Oxford University and U.K.-based drugmaker AstraZeneca, and another by Indian company Bharat Biotech. In the days leading up to the vaccination drive, batches of Covaxin and Covishield were transported to several cities across the country with the help of several airlines to ensure that things run smoothly when the drive begins.
