'PRARAMBH International Summit 2021' to celebrate 5 years of Startup India

New Delhi, Jan 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to interact with the startups that were initiated under the Startup India initiative and address 'Prarambh' : the Startup India International Summit, 2021. The International Summit marks five years of the launch of the Startup India initiative. The scheme has played a key role in encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship across India.

‘Prarambh’ is being organised virtually by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) between Jan 15-16, 2021. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal inaugurated the summit and stated that 'Prarambh’ is a beginning of a new journey towards new horizons with hope, encouragement and confidence. The summit is being organised as a follow up of the announcement made by the PM Modi at the 4th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation, BIMSTEC Summit held in 2018 at Kathmandu, Nepal. During the Summit, India also committed to host the BIMSTEC Startup Conclave.
 
 
 
The Prarambh International Summit will bring together speakers from all over the world. This will facilitate discussions on innovation, technologies, robust policies and enable international organisations and governments to share their views and thereby driving them to solve the problems and challenges. The Summit also marks the 50th anniversary of Startup India initiative. The startup India initiative was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jan 16, 2016. The Summit will be the largest startup conclave being organised by the Government of India since the launch of startup India initiative. More than 25 countries and 200 global speakers are to participate in the Summit.
 
 
 
The primary objective of the Summit is to focus attention of global capital for startups in India, provide opportunities for accessing International markets to the startups in the country, mobilize domestic capital and evolve enabling policy provisions. Union Minister Piyush Goyal said regarding the initiative that the govt has decided to go beyond 'Government to Government' and 'Business to Business' collaboration to a startup-startup collaboration and thus, invites startups from neighborhood countries to engage with Indian startups.
