However, the rain has once again played a spoilsport for the second time on Day 4, with India needing 324 runs to win the fourth Test match against Australia, at The Gabba in Brisbane. According to the latest scoreboard, the hosts scored four runs in 1.5 overs, before rain stopped play. Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill had begun India's run chase and are currently unbeaten.

Earlier on Day 4, the visitors posted 294 runs, setting a target of 328 runs for India. Steve Smith scored a stylish half-century for Australia. He slammed 55 off 74 balls, before losing his wicket to Mohammed Siraj.

Meanwhile, for India, Siraj displayed an impressive performance, registering his maiden five-wicket haul whereas Shardul Thakur took four wickets and Washington Sundar took a wicket.

The home's side bowling department will be aiming to add pressure on the Indian batsmen, and grab a much-needed win in order to win the series. For India, a draw will see them retain the Border Gavaskar trophy, with the series tied at 1-1, but will be looking to secure back-to-back series wins Down Under.
