Former National Law Commission Vice Chairman N M Ghatate no more

New Delhi, Jan 26: Former Vice Chairman of the National Law Commission, founder president of Rashtriiya Patrakarita Kalyan Nyas and senior Supreme Court advocate N M alias Appasaheb Ghatate died at Delhi on Sunday. He was 83 and survived by his wife and two sons.

Ghatate was known as an authority in legal fraternity. His father the late Babasaheb Ghatate was very close to RSS founder Dr, K B Hedgewar and his successor Sri Golwalkar Guruji and headed the Nagpur RSS unit as its ‘Sanghchalak’ for years.

Appasaheb Ghatate was admitted in a private hospital since last three days as he felt uneasiness. He breathed his last on 24th January around 3.30 am. He started his career as practicing lawyer in the national capital since 1960 under the guidance of V K Krishna Menon. He was close associate of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and was a witness to the political journey of Jan Sangh to BJP.
