New Delhi, Jan 27: Stating firmly that there is no place for anarchy and violence in democracy, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryawah Suresh alias Bhayyaji Joshi strongly condemned the violence and lawlessness indulged in by the agitating farmers on the 73rd Republic Day in Delhi.

The farmers from Punjab and Haryana had created a lot of trouble for the security forces and common public by taking out a tractor march in the National Capital on the Republic Day to force the governemnt to accept their demand of repeal of three farm acts.

The violence and nuisance created by the rudderless agitation of the farmers opposed to the three farm laws on the Republic Day, and especially the happening at historic Red Fort was highly deplorable and sad, Joshi said adding that it inflicted an insult to those who sacrificed for the unity and integrity of the country. There is no place for such anarchy in democracy he firmly reiterated.

The RSS appealed to all the countrymen to rise above party and ideological differences and make efforts for restoring peace on the priority, Joshi said.

Earlier, in an interview to ‘The Indian Express’ Joshi had said that any prolonged agitation was not in the interest of the country. He said that it was not possible that all the demands of any organization could be accepted but points of concurrence should be identified to reach at any solution that will be acceptable to both the parties to end the agitation.
