Algapur (Assam), Jan 7: “The Congress party is infected with a virus that is more deadly than the corona virus. This new virus that has gripped the Congress party workers can be described as “Congress Virus”, said Assam Agriculture Minister and senior Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leader Atul Bora here.

The AGP leader was addressing a public meeting here at Algapur in Barak Valley of Assam organized under the banner of ‘Jatuya Aikya Samaroh followed by the gathering of party activists as part of the election preparations.

Thousands of AGP workers braving the harsh winter and biting cold gathered for the ‘Samaroh’ at Algapur which was once the stronghold of former minister Shahidul Alam Choudhury. The insignia and pride of the AGP- its colorful flag could be seen all over the place.

Atul Bora, who also heads the AGP, said that AIDUF Leader Badruddin Ajmal was spreading this ‘Congress Virus’ using the ‘Holy Water’ but this remedy has become a vain effort as the ‘Congress Virus’ was rapidly spreading among the party workers.

assam_1  H x W:“In order to rid them of this ‘Congress Virus’ many a Congress leader have abandoned the party and joined either the BJP or other political parties”, Bora said making an oblique reference to hobnobbing between AIDUF President Badruddin Ajmal and the Congress party. He said that the Congress party can never recover from such huge losses.

The Congress party has used the minority groups as their own ‘vote banks’ and the AIDUF of Badruddin Ajmal was also following the Congress way, Bora explained.

The ideology, approach, motto, and temperament of both the parties are the same. He asked people to boycott both parties. The AGP will always give equal dignity, rights, respect, and esteem to all the religious minorities of Barak Valley in addition to other ethnic groups, Bora said appealing people to be part of the AGP in this new journey.

He said that the agriculture sector, which saw many irregularities during the tenure of the previous Congress government, was now undergoing a landmark change.
