Along with Jagan Mohan Reddy, the ED court issued summons to MP Vijaya Sai Reddy, Director of Hetero drugs Srinivas Reddy, Aurobindo Pharma MD Nithyananda Reddy, PV Ramprasad Reddy, Tydent Life Sciences Director Chandra Reddy, and retired IAS officer BP Acharya.

The charge sheet in the case was earlier filed before the Nampally Metropolitan Sessions Judge's (MSJ) court on land allotments to Aurobindo pharma and Hetero drugs. However, the charge sheet of the case was transferred from Nampally court in the city to the Enforcement Directorate Court and the summons is in relation to numbering the case in the ED court.

It should be noted the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has been charge-sheeted and is facing trial in at least 11 cases as the prime accused in alleged quid pro quo deals. The case was recently transferred from the Nampari MSJ Court to the ED Special Court, which issued a new subpoena.

The cases relate to investments made by various companies in Jagan’s firms as quid pro quo for various favors bestowed on them during the tenure of his father late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as Chief Minister between 2004 and 2009. It was also alleged that 30 acres of land allotted earlier by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation-APIIC to Aurobindo in Medak District Pasamailaram were illegally transferred to Trident Life Sciences.

Soon after becoming Chief Minister, Jagan had filed a petition seeking exemption from personal appearance as he would be busy with official duties. Jagan had not been attending trial proceedings citing his official engagements as the reason for his absence.
