Mumbai, October 12: The Maharashtra government has issued the Standard Operating Procedures or SOPs, on Tuesday, to reopen auditoriums and cinema halls starting October 22. In 2020, all the cinema operations came to a halt from mid-March due to Corona virus pandemic, only to be restarted for a few months in October and November last year in parts of India.

Here are the latest guidelines:
 
1. The occupancy of the cinemas/theatres/multiplexes/auditorium shall not be more than 50 per cent of their total seating ca pacity.
 
2. Aarogya Setu App showing safe status shall be mandatory for all visitors in cinema halls/theatres or in the alternative visitors can show final Covid vaccination certificate.
 
3. All staff including those employed at food court/cleaning services must have received two doses of Covid-19 vaccine and 14 days must have elapsed since second dose.
 
4. Staggered show timings for multiplexes to avoid crowding.
 
5. Digital no-contact payment methods should be used for booking tickers, payment for food and beverages.
 
6. Proper crowd management in parking lots, thermal screening of visitors, only asymptomatic people will be allowed. Restricted persons in elevators have been advised.
 
7. Regular Covid-appropriate behaviour including masking, physical distancing, covering of face while coughing/sneezing, regular hand sanitization etc are also enforced.
 
8. No food and beverages will be allowed inside the screening hall. Purchased packaged food and beverages will be allowed only outside the screening hall.
 
 
Here are the most recent SOPs:
 
1. Cinemas / theatres / multiplexes / auditoriums shouldn’t be more than 50% full.
 
2. Aarogya Setu: All guests at theatres are required to use an app displaying their safe status, or can present their last Covid vaccination certificate.
 
3. All employees, (including those working in the food court or cleaning services), must have had 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 14 days must have passed since second dose.
 
4. Multiplexes should have staggered show times for minimising congestion.
 
5. For ticket booking and payment for food and beverages, digital no-contact payment methods should be used.
 
6. Proper crowd control inside parking lots, thermal screening of visitors, and only asymptomatic persons will be permitted inside. Restricted individuals in elevators have been warned.
 
7. Regular Covid-appropriate behaviour, like masking, physical distance, covering of face when coughing / sneezing, hand sanitization, is enforced.
 
8. No food / beverages will be permitted within screening room. Packaged food and beverages will only be permitted outside screening hall.
