New Delhi, October 18: In under 2 months, over 4 crores workers have registered at the E-Shram portal. The Minister for Labour and Employment, Bhupender Yadav said that by registering, the unorganized workers will get benefits of government schemes easily.

Workers in diverse occupations like construction, apparel manufacturing, fishing, platform work, street vending, domestic work, agriculture, transport, registered at this portal. In some sectors, an overwhelming proportion of migrant workers are engaged. All the unorganized workers like migrant workers can now take benefits of several social security and employment-based schemes through registration at E-Shram portal.
 
 
Bhupender Yadav, Rameswar Teli, Secretary Labour and Employment, Sunil Barthwal (Secretary L&E) and Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) are holding many interactions with unorganised workers and leaders of trade union / media, to sensitize them of the features and benefits of the E-SHRAM portal and to encourage workers to register themselves, and take the benefits of several social security and welfare schemes.
 
 
This registration would facilitate delivery and accessibility to crucial welfare programmes and various entitlements meant for the workers in the unorganized sector and employment.

For online registrations, individual workers can use E-Shram’s mobile app / website. They can also visit Common Service Centres (CSC), State Seva Kendra, Labour Facilitation Centres, selected post offices of Department of Posts’ Digital Seva Kendras to register themselves.

After registration at the E-SHRAM Portal, the unorganised workers will receive a digital E-SHRAM card, then they can update their profiles through portal / mobile app. They will have a Universal Account Number (on e-SHRAM Card) that will be acceptable across India, and they will not be required to register at different places for obtaining social security benefits. If a worker is registered at the e-Shram portal and meets with an accident, he / she will be eligible for Rs 2 Lakh on death / permanent disability, and Rs. 1 lakh on partial disability.
